The Rookie

Guess what happened this week?!?!? The newest episode of The Rookie came out!!!

I can't stop encouraging people to watch this show when they ask me for recommendations for shows to watch! If you don't want a spoiler for the show, then don't read the rest of this post. If you DO want some info about the show, read on.


This show is about a 40ish year old, recently divorced man who goes through a mid-life crisis after his divorce. The crisis he's chosen for himself? Leave his well-paying construction job, sell his house, move to LA, enter the police academy, and join the police department. Thus begins the first season of The Rookie, where we follow the life of police rookie David Nolan (played by Nathan Fillion) as he learns on the job how difficult becoming a police officer is, and the added difficulty of being the oldest rookie in the departments history (if not ever).

The second season has started out with the probation/training period coming to a close and Nolan is going through the last round of tests before becoming a full-fledged police officer.


I CANNOT WAIT for the rest of the season!! I can already tell that there'll be more exciting discoveries David Nolan will have to go through as he learns how to be an actual cop without any sort of crutch (i.e. a T.O. or anything like that).


I highly encourage anyone who loves cop shows to start watching this series. I have found it to be semi educational (if the procedures they use on the show are accurate for the LA police department) and wildly entertaining (as I do with any of Nathan Fillion's shows/movies).
